The Avocado is originally from Mexico and tropical America and was quickly spread throughout the tropics and sub-tropical.

In effect, the stigmas are receptive when the pollen is not yet ripe.

The avocado pulp has a chemical composition slightly different depending on the variety, geographical origin and climatic conditions:
Water: 65 to 80%
Sugar: 2 10%
protein: 1 to 4%
oil 3 to 30%.

There are Vitamins A and E and vitamin B complex, little or no vitamin C.
Avocado oil is thick, green color, odor and taste pleasant nutty, rancid it difficult.
Its average composition:
Oleic acid: 42a 63%
palmitic acid: 17 to 29%
linoleic acid: 9 to 16%
linolenic acid less than 1%.

The unsaponifiables which can reach 1 to 2% is half composed of branched hydrocarbons with 20% of sterols and triols reducing unidentified.

USES
The avocado pulp is high energy, from 2000 to 3000 kgcal per kg, and yet quite digestible because the oil is emulsified form.
It is usually eaten raw in salads, but also incorporated into sorbets or drinks milk. Do not overcook.

The avocado pulp can be applied in beauty mask and directly mixed with hair haircare.
The oil enters the composition of cosmetic products, shampoos, soaps luxury and non-irritating foaming profusely. The unsaponifiables in the composition of herbal medicines intended to alter the composition and metabolism of connective tissue.
For example, the mixture

is advocated in the treatment of substance disorders and inflammation of the tissues supporting the teeth on the maxilla (periodontal disease), dermatology (scleroderma) and in the adjunctive treatment of osteoarthritis pain. More anecdotal: the Caribbean, using an infusion of leaves to treat various disorders, fatigue, diabetes, indigestion, menstrual disorders and especially the avocado pit, which is a component of aphrodisiac preparations (eg wine Lawyer: 1 grated avocado seed in 1 liter of wine).
