Poor absorption of foods:
- Is the failure of the body in that the nutrients naturally from vitamins and minerals and other food which has been in foods.
Occurs successively malnutrition, multiple causes, not only from poor absorption of food, but also not eat just enough food, the absence or lack of one or more nutrients in food consumed by the person .. The obese person exhibition of malnutrition if not get an adequate diet, malnutrition is not addressed in enough food .. Or eat enough food, but the body is not able to digest or absorb or take advantage of this food.
We conclude from this that the malabsorption, one of the factors but a major factor in malnutrition and a close relationship between them.
In order to understand the person mechanical malabsorption of food must first recognize the psychological process of food digestion and absorption by the intestine.
- Going through the process of digestion and absorption of food in three main phases:
1 - (Luminal Phase): is the phase decomposition Vie food from fats and proteins, carbohydrates and dissolved by the digestive enzymes that produce by yellow.
2 - (Mucosal): this stage depends on the movement of digested food from the intestines to the cells.
3 - (Post - absorptive phase): the post-movement of lipid absorption (organic compounds include Druya of fat and wax) and basic food items by the lymph nodes and the circulatory system of the cells (Epithelial cells) to all members of the body.
And the body is exposed to any of these disorders or diseases during the three phases of digestion and absorption of food resulting in poor absorption of food
1 - diarrhea:
One of the most common disorders, as more and osmosis are the property of excess production in the intestine and hydroxide fatty acids by bacteria as a result of non-digestible fats, the secretion of fluid in the intestine leading to increased diarrhea worse.
2 - diarrhea lipid (Stearrhea):
Result from poor absorption of fat, and is in the feces smell bad and a large quantity and it is difficult to dispose of in the toilet and find the patient accumulation of small droplets floating oil-like after the output.
3 - weight loss and fatigue:
And underweight or thinness of the most common disorders related to poor absorption but easy to make weight increase daily consumption of calories .. We find that the lack of weight increase in diseases such as bowel (Celiac disease) and (Whipple Disease).
4 - flatulence:
Bacterial sepsis, which results from non-digested food is absorbed or released material gas such as hydrogen and methane, causing the swelling, which leads to a feeling of unease and cramps in the abdomen.
5 - edema:
This results in a low albumin (Hypoalbuminemia) as a result of chronic malabsorption of proteins and the loss of proteins because (Peripheral edema), or edema due to blockage in the lymphatic system as illustrated in the case of (Intestinal lymphangiectasia), which causes him to have in proteins. With a sharp loss of proteins could arise swelling in the abdomen.
6 - Anemia:
Depending on the reason, the anemia that results from malnutrition could be (Macrocytic) or (Microcytic).
The presence of intestinal disorders because of Crohn's disease can cause (Megaloblastic anemia) due to lack of vitamin B 12.
7 - bleeding disorders:
Comes bleeding as a result of poor absorption of vitamin B-12 and the next as a result of a lack of blood Brutheromben (Hypoprothorrobinemia).
8 - bone deformities:
Vitamin A deficiency (d) lead to bone diseases such as (Osteomalacia) and (Osteopenia).
In addition to bone pain and fractures.
Poor absorption of calcium leads to overactivity of the parathyroid gland (Hyperparathyroidism) of the second division.
9 - Neurological disorders:
Electrolyte disturbances such as lack of sugar and a lack of manganese leads to Altakerz or muscle contraction (Tetany).
And vitamin deficiencies generally lead to a general weakness or impairment of peripheral nerves.
10 - Symptoms and physical disorders:
A - general disorders:
- The patient may suffer from low blood pressure Alantsaby (Orthostatic hypotension).
- Signs of weight loss, or muscle weakness or both.
- The patient's fat, which are under the skin.
B - check the abdomen:
- May inflate the abdomen and bowel heard in the case of hyperactivity.
- Consists of water and the abdomen (ascites) in the case of lack of protein (Hypoproteinemia)).
C - skin:
- Pale and reflects the anemia.
- The emergence of bruises (Ecchymoses) due to lack of vitamin (K).
- The emergence of the following: (Dermatitis herpetiformis - Erythema nodosum - Pyoderma gangrenosum).
D - neurological tests:
- Weakness, impairment of peripheral nerves or (Ataxia).
E - mouth ulcers.
Z - edema of the Parties.
Symptoms of malabsorption:
- Avoid eating certain foods.
- Lack of growth of the body.
- Bloating and gas in the abdomen.
- Chronic diarrhea.
- They are the muscles.
- Abdominal cramps.
