A scientific study revealed that smoking may make some of the genes begin to work permanently and harmful.

The researchers from the Centre for Cancer Research, British Columbia in Vancouver, that many genetic changes stop when the person give up smoking, but found that many of the genes that have been working for years, including several genes were not linked by tobacco use.

The researchers said they found that some genes in the DNA repair started working in smokers and remained disabled in ex-smokers, and damage to DNA is a major cause of cancer.

Among the genes that were run in the body of smokers and former smokers a gene called "C-ABC Wi-R" has a role in helping sperm to swim, among other genes that are run in smokers but not in persons who have not smoked at all gene called , "meaning that T PDA 8" and appears to play a role in the injury of DNA damage.

The researchers found that 50% of the patients were newly diagnosed with lung cancer in former smokers, and then it is important to understand the impact of tobacco smoke on the airways in both current and former smokers.
